Disney’s Awesome Things #16: The T-Rex Cafe Meteor Showers

#16We have wondered before why T-Rex is so expensive. I’ve blabbed my thoughts that you’re not just paying for the food here – you’re also paying for the theming. And part of that is the meteor showers.
Now I honestly think that the meteor showers are awesome. While it is noisy and a bit distracting (so beware – if you’re looking for a nice quiet meal, this is not the place to go), it is still so neat to watch.
The effects are great and it’s even more entertaining if they occur when your water is trying to talk. I just think it’s a nice little addition to an already awesomely-themed restaurant. Don’t you?

I actually haven’t been in the T-Rex Cafe, but I heard that it looks pretty much like the Rainforest Cafe. From a cousin words: “It’s a Rainforest Cafe with dinosaur theming” (so it is completely different, I thought…).
Now, reading this, it reminded me of the sudden thunderstorms that hit the Rainforest Cafe from time to time.
Is it really comparable to the Rainforest or are they unique places, each with its own attractions, besides the food?

Well John that’s a hard question to answer! LOL
T-Rex is owned by the same company (Laundry Restaurants, Inc.) as Rainforest Cafe – so it’s similar but different.
It’s like the thunderstorms that hit Rainforest Cafe, you’re right, but it’s themed to be a meteor shower instead (similar effects/sounds, but not the same).
So it’s similar but different. It’s definitely a unique experience worth checking out, though!
