Photo Magic: All Aboard!

Welcome to another edition of Photo Magic, where we search for some of the best looking photos of Walt Disney World! This one is obviously of the Magic Kingdom train station while the train is pulling in. A very nice photo – if you look real hard and use some imagination, you can see a hidden mickey. Where is it? Let’s take a look at what the poster says about this photo:

Two of the biggest icons of Walt Disney World are the Main Street, USA train station and the locomotive, itself.

Walt himself loved trains, and I think the beautiful trains at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World are demonstrative of this.

What do you think of this photo – let us know in the comments now! (Photo by WDWFigment).

Photo Magic: World Showcase Lagoon

Welcome to another edition of Photo Magic, where we find and post awesome Walt Disney World photography! (Sorry about the lack of posts this month, by the way).

This photo is taken of the World Showcase Lagoon at Epcot, before the nightly Illuminations fireworks show. Why was this photo chosen for Photo Magic? Well, besides the amazing colors, you can get a great view of Test Track (left) and the Mexico Pavilion (right) from this shot.

Seeing this photograph really makes me feel like I’m at Epcot – the perfect candidate for a PhotoMagic post! You can check out the picture on Flickr right here. Photo Magic: Waiting for the Parade

Welcome to another edition of Photo Magic, where we collect some of the best Walt Disney World photography from Flickr and post about it. Here we have part of Main Street U.S.A. – a shot of everyone waiting on the side for the parade to start. Here’s the description the poster tells us:

After spending a while watching burned out hippies cavalcade on Congress in various states of undress during First Night a few evenings ago, I was reminded of this photo at Disneyworld. So, I went back to process it and see if it was as idyllic as I remembered. This is Main Street with the assembled crowds, as everyone awaits the big fireworks show and Disney parade.

If this image looks especially good to you, maybe it’s because it’s an HDR (high dynamic range) image – which means it shows greater dynamic range of luminance between light and dark. Click here for the photo page, and here for the poster’s photostream!

Photo Magic: I’m Getting Dizzy

Check out this amazing picture of the Mad Tea Party in Fantasyland of the Magic Kingdom!  Here’s the description of the photo the original poster gives us:

A Fantasyland staple, The Mad Tea Party is one of those rides everyone recognizes, regardless of whether they’ve been to Walt Disney World or Disneyland. Despite the simplistic look of the attraction, it’s an awful lot of fun (just don’t go right after dinner!).

With the new Tim Burton movie set to come out soon, I think the popularity of this already popular attraction may increase.

Not only is it a very clear picture, it also has a very nice long exposure effect.  Click here for the photo page.  Click here for the poster’s photostream.  I hope you enjoyed another edition of Photo Magic!

PhotoMagic: Wildest Ride (in the Wilderness)

Welcome to another edition of PhotoMagic!  This is the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad loading station.  There is nothing negative I can say about this picture – it’s a great one.  Uploaded by Express Monorail on Flickr, this amazing shot looks like it should be on the Walt Disney World website!  No – I’m not kidding – I really think this should be used as a promotional photo.  (But that’s just my opinion.)  What do you think?  Click here for original image page.

PhotoMagic: Up Up and Away!

Astro Orbiter (Walt Disney World)

The background in motion and the rocket in focus is just great. This is a perfect example of a photo I’m looking for in the PhotoMagic series. Here is the description the poster gives us: “In Walt Disney World’s Tomorrowland, my five year old son’s favorite ride. Works for both of us, he’s the pilot and I record the mission!” Taken by Damgaard. For more info, click the links below the picture! Thanks for reading, and enjoy future PhotoMagic posts!

PhotoMagic: The Introduction

Welcome to a new feature here on WDW Central called PhotoMagic! [I realize it's a lousy name - if you can come up with something better, I'm all for it!]  Here’s how it works. Occasionally I’ll be going on Flickr to look for great shots at Walt Disney World.  It could be a park icon, a ride, a shop, fireworks, or anything.  I’m picking the photos that look great.  That’s the point.  And I won’t be claiming to own any of the photos, because I’ll link back to the photo on Flickr and the poster’s profile.  You can look forward to the first post tomorrow.  Thanks for visiting WDW Central!
