Home for the Holidays: Make This Christmas Special

Walt Disney World is usually considered a special place – yet during the holiday season, it’s even more so. There’s so much to see and do, it’s hard to know where to begin. It’s always going to be crowded and rushed during the holidays, so here are some things you can do to relax, take it easy, and enjoy the special season.

Go Resort Hopping. A nice way to take it easy in WDW during this time of year is to simply go Resort hopping. Get on the Resort Monorail at the Magic Kingdom station, and get off at every stop – the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian Resorts. This is a relaxing way to hear the music of Christmas, and enjoy the decorations in different styles – away from the crowds at the parks!

Explore Gift Shops. This time of year, most gift shops (Resorts and Parks) will have Christmas items. Take time to go in and have a look around – there might be something in there that would be perfect in your house. Also, Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe (in Liberty Square, MK) and It’s a Wonderful Shop (near MuppetVision 3D, DHS) are both full-time Christmas gift shops.

Experience an Event. Disney’s got all sorts of Christmas events going on. You don’t have to do all of them, but one would get you into that holiday spirit. From the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights at DHS, or the Candlelight Processional at Epcot, there is something here for you to enjoy.

Simply listen. Relax and listen. All around you, in every park and resort, in most areas, you will hear wonderful Christmas music that really gets you in the right mood.

So if you’re in Walt Disney World this holiday, be sure to think of those tips that will really help you get in the Christmas mood – it will allow you not only to relax and have a rewarding vacation, but it will give you the spirit of the holidays. So tell us – How will you make this Christmas special @ Walt Disney World?
